Industrial Hygiene Asbestos Competent Person Training i As you know, the 0SHA Asbestos Standard 1926.58 requires employers to designate a "Competent Person" to perform or supervise the asbestos removal, demolition, and renovation operations. It is further stated in the standard 1 that the designated competent person shall be trained in all aspects of i asbestos and its removal related procedures. The standard also requires that (. the training of the competent person be conducted by a comprehensive course : : such as one conducted by an EPA Asbestos Training Center.
