Pitts Date March 10, 1978 Subject Benzene Warning Labels (conoco) It is almost 100$ certain that OSHA benzene standard will go into effect on March 13, 1978. One of the provisions of this standard requires caution labels on any container carrying benzene when it leaves the employer's workplace. This will require warning tags to be placed on tank cars carrying Light Aromatic Distillate. Attached is such a tag. I will send a supply to the Steam Plant. I suggest that the tags be placed on the car seals located on the domes. This should be started immediately and a notation made on each LAD car loading reoor that the tag was put on.
