Rerunning High Color TEA to T-271 Directly 1.0 Objective: 1.1 The objective of this procedure is to rerun high color TEA directly to T-271 without passing the material through the other distillation columns. This method will reduce the exposure of high temperature heat history for the TEA. 2.0 Responsibility: 2.1 It is the responsibility of operations to ensure that this task is executed in a safe and efficient manner in full compliance with this procedure. 3.0 Method: 3.1 High color TEA that otherwise meets the production spec is loaded into DV-273B. This material is metered into T-271 through FIC-2298. DV-273B can be loaded directly from a rail car or from the rerun line. 3.2 Flying transfers must be conducted on the A-5503 material in DV-273A. T-271 bottoms can be placed in DV-273B if absolutely necessary. 4.0 Safety Equipment: 4.1 You will need the following safety equipment for this job: hard hat, safety glasses and gloves. 5.0 Procedure: 5.1 Analyze material to be introduced into the system by GC, color, and water. Only material that is non-conforming due to color will be reran directly into T-271. If the material is slightly high in water or another parameter, a mixing calculation must be completed to determine if the T-271 OH will be out of production specification. 5.2 The high color TEA is transferred to DV-273B from the rerun line. It can be sent from a tank car or from DV-278. 5.3 Arrange the valves on DV-273A/B to isolate the two check tanks. 5.4 Block in the rerun line at DV-243A.
