We spoke on the telephone several months ago about the Shanghai Health Study. With Shell as a study sponsor and your role as chair of the API Special Programs committee and myself as chair of the Oversight Committee for the consortium of sponsoring companies, Shell certainly has a vested interest. The study is at a critical point. I would like to be able to meet with you or telecon to bring you up to date. I am actually sitting in the jury assembly room right now, so am not connected to the SHELL-MCCLURG-060114 Shell system and cannot schedule a meeting. I will be at WTC on Wed, March 21, until 10 AM. I could come by your office on my way back downtown. I will check your availability when I can get reconnected. In the meantime, if you let me know your preference for a meeting or call. There is a critical consortium/API meeting scheduled for March 29 at API offices in DC. We would like to invite and encourage you or another member of the Special Programs Committee to attend. There is a need to clarify roles and responsibilities of the consortium and API, as well as gain a better understanding of API processes and procedures. We also hope to have a formal proposal from Dr. Richard Irons, the principal investigator, for his requested additional funding.
