York Sanatorium was informed by his physician that he probably had lead poisoning as a result of his occupation. Mr. flBHHPfcs now seriously 111, and is confined in Franklin Hospital, Franklin, Pennsylvania, under the care of Dr. G. C. McCanaless. Mr. Lichtenstein called to determine whether or not lead poisoning could be a factor in the present illness, or was the cause of the former disability. McCandless, 1228 Elk Street, Franklin, Pennsylvania a' Dr. Me Candles inx-ormed me that Mr. a white man, 35 years old, consulted bin recently because of Inability to void. It was necessary to catherise him. Further examination showed that he had serious weakness of his lower extremities and a disturbance of the spinal cord or nerve roots of undetermined origin. Dr. McCandless advised Mr. to enter Franklin Hospital for observation and treatment. Examination of the urine disclosed a bladder infection and an examination of the blood revealed h5PQf000 rd blood cells, 85^ hemoglobin, and 2h,G00 whit blood cells with 85^ polymorphonuclear leucocytes. Dr. McCandless stated that he did not regard lead poisoning as a likely etiologic factor In thi3 case, but would be glad to obtain blood and urine samples for lead determinations.
