3M presented their strategy to phase out PFAS completely, as announced in December 2022. The decisionwas driven by the regulatory landscape in both US and Europe. . 3M decided to phase out PFAS. and to concentrate on the other parts of the portfolio,ofwhich PEAS only contributes for 4.5%. 3M will resthpeceontcracttswith theircustomers thatlast until 2025. 3M annotuhenirdceceisidonto their customers at the same time as they communicated publicly. 3M will not focus on "essential uses" of PFAS, given the very low scale of PFAS in the company's. portfolio. 3M plans to invest in R&D,workclosely with academia, substitution centres and other companies, in order to find non-flucrinated alternatives. 3M sees the green transition (both in EU and in US) as main investment opportunity. 3M production mostly follows their customers, 60-70% of the production is intended for the regional market. Therefore, 3M will continue to investin the EU. 3Mis currently assessing the impacts of the CLP revision, particularly as regards endocrine disruptors and mobility criteria 3M expressed support for an ambitious regulatory landscapeforall companies, necessary to achieve a level playing field, and underlined the importance of predictability.
