I first examined the situation in which he works. The area is extremely.hot and noisy. I did not detect any unusual odor nor did I see any unusual amount of dust in the area. Hr.Ventsel displayed a few chronic bluish papules on the dorerun of the right finger. He stated that these hare been present for approximately the past eight aonths, and that they itched severely at tines, especially when hot. He stated that for the past one and a half to two years he had elnilar lesions on the dorsun of the hand adjacent be this finger and in the adjacent web spaces. Although the lesions would wax serf wens, they had newer completely cleared. He has been performing the same, dmtlea at work for the pest ten years and states there has been no real change in the situation. His work consists in overseeing the department in which the funnel and face of TV tubes are formed from molten glees. Os occasions he handles the hot glass wearing the proper protective gloves. At times he is called upon to repair which have broken down. Occasionally his hands are sapoosd to hydralie oil but this does not occur as often as once e week. The diagnosis is drah|droais. a condition which is usually associated with excessive heat and/or Internal tension. It is mj opinion that the degree of heat In which he works regularly could be an aggravating factor in perpetuating elfin condition. ' This skin condition has not been incapacitating to Mr.Wentael but it has at times been uncomfortable because of the evanesqpat Itching. I did not perform any allergy testa or other type of skin testa as there is none to my knowledge which would help to resolve the question at hand, namely, whether there ia any substance to which he is exposed in his work which would aggravate the skin condition mentioned above.
