Section I - INTRODUCTION
Atlas Operating, LLC / Battery 7 Inspection Date: 03/03/2020
PURPOSE OF THE INSPECTION EPA Region 6 inspector K.W. Sanborn visited the Atlas Operating, LLC oil and gas facility located near Quitman, Texas on 03/03/2020 for an unannounced inspection. There were no representatives of Atlas Operating, LLC present for the inspection. The inspection was conducted by authority of the Clean Water Act and the Safe Drinking Water Act to determine compliance with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) regulations.
FACILITY DESCRIPTION This facility is known as Battery 7 and has a state identification number of: RRC #036587.
Section II - OBSERVATIONS I observed recent work on the berm around the tank battery during the inspection. I saw some oil staining in a small creek nearby to the facility but did not observed produced water in the creek.
Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN There was recent surface damage observed outside of the tank battery.
Section IV - FOLLOW UP EPA water enforcement will refer this facility EPA Region 6 SPCC program.
