Those of us who worked to put the program together never envisioned it to be more than a small step towards the eventual eradication of this preventable disease. I think we made that small step, and I am proud to say that I was a part of it. I trust you share this feeling. The Lead Industries Institute of New York City has agreed to publish the proceedings of the Conference for the benefit of those unable to attend personally. As a Conference participant, you will, of course receive a copy of the proceedings as soon as they are made available.
