Dear
I trust you are well.
Following our participation in the SEAC plenary on ADCR, it may be worth to schedule a follow up meeting on the other items identified at our last meeting including the PFAS restriction. Would early June be feasible from your perspective?
One concrete question as regards the PFAS timeline is when you would see a good time for an potential EASA input to SEAC as regards aviation safety and certification?
Kind regards
1. REACH Aviation Dashboard (ECHA Processes with potential aviation safety and EASA certification implications)
Restrictions Terphenyl, hydrogenated PFAS
Authorisations Chomates (ADCR) TEL
2. Update of the EASA-ECHA Report ("An elaboration ..")
3. Preparation of a director-level meeting ECHA - EASA (Online, Helsinki or Cologne?)
E.g. Sign an updated MoC based on experience to date, publish a an updated common report on EASA and ECHA websites in parallel

Next steps for PFAS restriction proposal
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) outlines how its two scientific committees will progress in evaluating the proposal to restrict per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) in Europe.
Helsinki, 13 March 2024 - Following the screening of a large number of comments received during the consultation, ECHA is clarifying the next steps for the proposal to restrict PFAS under REACH, the EU's chemicals regulation.
The Agency's scientific committees for Risk Assessment (RAC) and for Socio-Economic Analysis (SEAC) will evaluate the proposed restriction together with the comments from the consultation in batches, focusing on the different sectors that may be affected.
In tandem, the five national authorities who prepared the proposal, are updating their initial report to address the consultation comments. This updated report will be assessed by the committees and will serve as the foundation for their opinions.
The sectors and elements that will be discussed in the next three committee meetings are:
March 2024 meetings: o Consumer mixtures, cosmetics and ski wax; o Hazards of PFAS (only by RAC); and o General approach (only by SEAC).
June 2024 meetings: o Metal plating and manufacture of metal products; and o Additional discussion on hazards (only by RAC).
September 2024 meetings: o Textiles, upholstery, leather, apparel, carpets (TULAC); o Food contact materials and packaging; and o Petroleum and mining.
More information about the committees' plans to evaluate the remaining sectors and about the next procedural steps will be announced as work advances. This information will be communicated in conjunction with the committee meetings.
ECHA is making every effort to progress opinion making, following the updates made to the proposal by the five national authorities. The Agency will deliver the final opinions to the European Commission in the shortest possible timeframe while ensuring their transparency, independence and high quality.

Dear
Thanks for reaching out on the cases you mentioned below.
I have contacted the responsible staff to find a suitable timeslot. Is there anything in particular with these cases that you would like to have more details on? Please let us know, so that we can adapt the briefing points accordingly.
Do you already have more concrete ideas on a possible agenda for the Director's meeting?
Many thanks

Dear
Thanks a lot for sharing the draft opinion. We reviewed the parts where EASA is mentioned and consider it reflects the tasks and responsibilities well.
It may be helpful to mention EASA also in the opinion itself as a source of inputs.
As a follow-up of our last meeting, I propose to have a 1 hour catch-up call to exchange on the latest status of the below ECHA processes. Feel free to add, complement as needed.
Kind regards from Cologne

Dear
The discussions on ADCR are coming to a point where we will agree on the draft opinions in the upcoming RAC/SEAC meetings. The SEAC meeting on this will take place on 13 March 2024, from 9:30 until 18:00 Helsinki time.
You're more then welcome to follow the discussion on this agenda point. We hope as well that , should you decide to attend, we can call on you in case some members would still have any question on the EASA procedures (no need to prepare this beforehand)
Attached you can find one model opinion as well (please don't distribute this further) that we developed for ADCR. We'd be most grateful if you can have a look at this document to see if we did not get any mentioning of EASA and it's tasks/responsibilities wrong. Do you think we can have your feedback by Thursday 7 March?
Many thanks
