Kehoe Kettering Laboratory College of Medicine Eden &Bethesda Avenues Cincinnati 19, Ohio Dear Dr. Kehoe: As discussed in our telephone conversation today, I am attaching copy of the letter from George Unzelman, our chief refinery technologist in Los Angeles, to Mr. Huxtable, our regional sales manager, covering the percentage of gasoline sold in the Bakersfield-Fresno area contain ing higher than 3. 17 grams of lead per gallon.' As mentioned, our records show that the majority of the estimated 33.2% gasoline contains more than 3. 17 grams. Actually, we would guess it contains closer to 3.7 grams, or 3 1/2 ml per gallon. With regard to other areas in the United States where customers are consistently selling concentrations higher than 3. 17 grams, we are in the process of bringing our figures up to date. Therefore we will supply you this information in the immediate future.
