Confirming your conversations with C. P. Anderson, wa feel that in the future you could safely adjust the extracted solids on tbis product to a slightly lower level than in recent lots. We recognise that you must pack out a lot with no dyetest on the final mixer sample, and we certainly agee that it is better to be slightly stronger rather than weaker than standard. However, the evidence from the last several lots indicates that you could aim for a solids of 10.8% or 10.9 rather than 11.3% and confidently expect that the lot would be at least equal to standard in strength.
Solids and strength figures on several recent lots are tabulated below, in the case of Lot 134, higher solids were needed to attain standard strength, but I. understand that this was recognized on the basis of tests of the crudes which went into the lot.
