The focus of his role is to advance permitting and approvals for Teck's North American operations, support other regulatory processes and to develop and manage company-wide systems to steward Teck's environmental performance. Prior to his current role, Christian served as Director, Regulatory Approvals. As a former member of Teck's Corporate Development team, he also has extensive experience in mergers and acquisitions, financial and divestment deals, and management of various technology investments. Christian joined Teck in 2007. Christian holds a Master of Science degree in Geological Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines, and an MBA from the University of British Columbia. He is a registered Professional Engineer in British Columbia. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Vancouver Aquarium and is a Director at ZincNyx Energy Solutions, a company that is developing a zinc-air fuel cell system for large scale renewable energy storage.
