PROJECT TITLE PROPOSAL
IBM PC For New Jersey Right To Know
Purchase an IBM PS 2/70 and Diagraph labeling software and printer in order to print labels required by the New Jersey Community Right-to-Know Labeling Law.
JUSTIFICATION The New Jersey Right-to-Know labeling law requires that all chemical containing containers and packages be labeled with the top
five components. The items to be labelled include blenders, mixers, pipelines, valves, Q.C. sample bags, retained samples, and "consumer goods" such as cleaning supplies. Some finished goods such as compounds and resin must also be labeled.
The computer will be used to store the chemical constituents and "M-number" developed from suppliers' data and/or MSDS sheets. The product "M-number" will be used to print the in-process production labels. Each raw material change during a production run will require a new label for each "container" in the plant.
