Are you concerned about just dicamba, or also about the dicamba-based products on the market, such as Roundup Ready Xtend? We are working with the states and the registrants to better understand the issue. We are reviewing the current use restrictions on the labels for these dicamba formulations in light of the incidents that have been reported this year. The underlying causes of the various damage incidents are not yet clear, but EPA is reviewing the available information carefully. Several states in the South are reporting an uptick in complaints about Dicamba-based pesticides that are drifting and destroying neighboring farms. The problem has become serious enough that Arkansas is now banning dicamba while other states are introducing restrictions. Given the new information, is the EPA reconsidering its decision to allow Monsanto, Dupont and BASF to sell dicamba-based pesticides and dicamba resistant seeds? I'm writing for Consumer Affairs.
