Mr. Haw kinson Informed us that Mosinee Paper was their first industrial client, and that good relationships go back many, many years. For this -year alone Employers Ins. has sustained claims due to Asbestosis totaling $225,000. 'These claims are national in scope and arise from all different types of exposure. The only advice given Mosinee Paper was that if Asbestos were used that certain -controls, consistant with good employee health and" safety standards, be imployed, 1. e. _exhaust_ fans_JLji..the area if -dust levels"warrent,` and periodic x-rays. We all agreed that when one takes an objective view of Asbestosis and its causes, that it is really no more dangerous than a host of other commonly used industrial products, when proper controls are enforced. We met with von Ende, who is a personal friend of Gordon Dixon, and both worked together at Gilman Paper, Vermont. He advised that the intended use was to soften their industrial toweling grade. Since there are other known methods to achieve the same end, they have moved on to calendering, and this is working for them.
