Sprague Catalog of Glidden Raw Materials for the Protective Coating Industry For descriptive purposes, we believe the following will answer: EUSTON DRY WHITE LEAD Euston Basic Carbonate White Lead is manufactured in three types. These three types meet the range of requirements of the consuming industries and are described below. EUston Superior White Lead Euston Superior White Lead is manufactured primarily for those paint manufacturers desiring exceptionally white color, high primary oil absorption, high secondary oil absorption, which properties give high consistency to the paint in which it is used. Euston Superior White Lead is also unusually suitable as a chemical for color manufacturing, driers, varnishes, enamels and other chemical uses as well. Euston Standard White Lead Euston Standard White Lead is similar to the Superior Grade, except it has medium primary oil absorption, medium secondary oil absorption, and therefore gives medium consistency to the paints in which it is used. The uses are the same as for Euston Superior Grade White Lead, however, Euston Standard Grade White Lead is more especially adapted for dry color manufacturing. Euston "HC" White Lead Euston "HC" White Lead has a high tinting strength and a low primary oil ab sorption, medium secondary oil absorption, giving medium consistency to the paints in which it is used. This is our all purpose paint pigment. It is also particularly suitable for grinding white lead in oil. EUSTON WHITE LEAD IN OIL This is packed in steel kegs holding respectively 100, $0, 25, and 12-1/2 lbs. It is manufactured both as a heavy paste containing 91% White Lead and 9% pure linseed oil, and as an all purpose paste containing 89% White Lead, 9% pure linseed oil and 2% pure gum spirits of turpentine.
