PCB losses from the department Increased to 4.58 lb./day from 1.22 lb./day of last month. B. Incinerator losses increased to .28 lb./day from .08 lb./day of last month. C. . Sauget Village Outfall. The new chemical treatment plant Is under construction, therefore only the outfall stream is being sampled. Losses averaged 3.95 lb./day compared to 2.67 lb./day of last month. II. Program Status The high losses of August and September were the result of the demister failure In Dept. 246. This wss repaired but production was Interrupted due to a shutdown In Dept. 217 delaying a return to normal operation. Tests made in August on exhausts In Dept. 246 showed a low rate of atmospheric discharge. The total for three vents Is estimated between .01 and .02 lb./day.
