PURPOSE? This Glassification is Being made to effect the removal of fines and precipitated TiOg from the hydrolysis cake.
BACKGROUND;
Removal of fines and precipitated TiOs from the hydrolysis cake has Been found to give a much greater Brilliance and transparency to the "Afflair'1 product* Laboratory tests on Batch 28-1 showed dry classification to give a product superior to classification in wet cyclones.
WIMBER OF TEST LOTS; One. An estimated four shifts will be required to complete the classification.

PROCEDURES ^The Hurricane classifier is to Be operated with 4 decks and
35 louvers (normal). Operating speed is to be 3000 RPM*
feed rate is to Be 500 pph, and air flow is to Be adjusted ^
to give a yield on the'1 1 and 2-1 cuts of. 75 -
Conditions
for this run, are patterned after runJMEP-1085-5 made at -the
