POLICY CHANGES A. Fire, Entry and Special Permit Procedure Discussion was held on statement concerning elimination of leadmen signature for permits. Tom Ryan will issue a revised statement on this change with requests for comments by 2/4/85. This change in policy is expected to be put in effect 2/15/85. III. ACTION ITEMS A. Contractors' Safety _ SHAC will look into ways for improving contractors' safety. B. Ex-Battery Limit Pipeline Jurisdiction SAC is still working on resolving this issue. C. Chemical Information Placards SHAC will look into developing a standardized matrix type chart for use throughout the plant. Recommendations will also be made concerning locations for these charts. D. Evacuation Procedures Will work with other area plants to develop means for informing citizens when evacuation is necessary. This will be done through safety organizations or IMAS. E. Contractor Drug Testing Contractors performing work for Monsanto will be encouraged to establish drug screening programs. Universal is expected to establish one in the near future. F. Vessel Inspection Program Superintendents are expected to know those vessels in their area which are out of compliance on the vessel inspection program. Paul Saunders will be requested to report on a monthly basis those vessels which are not in compliance. G. Off-the-Job Safety Information is currently being collected on off-the-job injuries. This will be reported on a monthly basis with the first information expected to be reported at the February PMSB. H. Visibility of Short-Term Safety Goals SHAC will place special emphasis on surpassing the present record of 8,715,815 manhours without a lost workday injury. I. National Cancer Institute Booklets and Films The Office Safety Committee will handle presentation of this informa tion to plant personnel via safety meetings. SC 13696 /dgb R. T.
