NEW YORK, DECEMBER 11, 1962 - National Lead Company has announced
the appointment of William R. Klein, Jr. as manager, pigments and chemicals
division, of the Atlantic Branch, effective January 1, 1963- He succeeds
George Diehlman -who retires after completing 47 years of service.
Mr. Klein was employed by National Lead Company in 1948 as a
sales representative for the pigments and chemicals division of the Atlantic
Branch. He was graduated from Colgate University in 1942 and subsequent to
graduation, served with the United States Air Force for four years on over
seas duty.
Mr. Diehlman has been manager, pigments and chemicals division,
of National Lead Company's Atlantic Branch since 1955* He began his company
career in 1915 in the analytical department of the Brooklyn Research Labora
tories and later specialized in research work on lead oxides and metal pro
tective coatings. In 1949 he was named sales promotion manager for metal
protective pigments and paints with headquarters at Brooklyn. In 1954 he
transferred to the Atlantic Branch as manager of raw material sales. Mr.
Diehlman attended Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn and Pratt Institute.
He served for many years on various technical committees of the American
Society for Testing and Materials and New York Society for Paint Technology.
He is member of National Association of Corrosion Engineers and New York
Paint, Varnish and Lacquer Association.
