(Executive Vice President) ADDITIONAL BACKGROUND INFORMATION Byeong visited with the Kansas rural water district on his way to Ann Arbor. I have forwarded to your attention (via regular mail) copies of maps, additional data and correspondences Byeong obtained during his visit. FYI, we now know that RWD #5 were not initially the ones who discovered VCM in the drinking water. Another water district, RWD #2, decided to purchase and blend their ground water supply with RWD #5 water to reduce levels of carbon tet that RWD #2 had discovered in their well water. While measuring the blended water supply for carbon tet they identified VCM. Dow Chemical 1 05/20/93 NSF / VI Meeting (con't) 3) Negotiation 4) Report CONCLUSIONS / ACTION REGISTER 1) The NSF will accept the project and start work immediately a) Dr. McClelland will send Bob Burnett a contract soon but will not hold up work for the signatures. b) The initial project includes the items outlined by Nina (above) and will cost $25,000 (Bob Walker and Bob Burnett will resolve any cost sharing issues between Uni-bell and VI). 2) Dave Echstein will be the industry contact person for this project with NSF 3) NSF has not yet named a project manager from their side. 4) There will be a teleconference on June 1st at 10:30 am EDT with the current industry task group (Goodman, JO, Eckstein, McCreedy) 5) Which VI staff (Meredith, Bob ?) should be included on industry task group?
