The being no amendments or additions, the minutes were ordered filed as approved. The Chairman called upon the Treasurer, Mr. O'Hcurhe to render his report or. the financial condition of the Ccrccra tion. Mr. O'Pour-ce outlined the receipts and disoursements the period September 1, 1967 through May 15, 19^3 and the amcu of cash on hand as shown in his written report. Mr. 3cyer advised that the application for the collective mark, had been filed and that from five to si;< months would probably elapse before it is published for ctocsiticn in*the Patent Office Gazette. Members were given a supply of Sprayed Fiber Application Practice bulletins and discussion was had on*plans to distribute the bulletins. It was agreed that each member distribute to his contractors. mv. -- .iS emotion Committee is to develop a letter of ansnitta. o accompany the Bulletin.. Each members is to advise the Executive Secretary whom to send Bulletins to other than contractors, etc. and the Secretary will advise all members of this distribution. Mr. Stumpf displayed a tire tread thickness gauge he had obtained from Sears Roebuck which could serve as a strayed mineral fiber thickness gauge by slightly sharpener its point. He had obtained the manufacturers name and* had preliminary cost information. The members agreed it would serve the purpose and upon motion duly made and seconded, it was RESOLVED, that Mr. Stumpf be authorised to purchase a lot of 5'*Q gauges^and have points turned down at a sum not exceeding 60b" each. Mr. Toth is to discuss with the Chairman of the Promotion Committee the obtaining of a decal of the Associ^ tion`s logotype to be tut on the gauges. The status of other items assigned the Promotion Committee were reported as pending. The Chairman called for the report of the Techni Committee by its Chairman, Mr. Stumpf. Mr. Stumpf discussed the work done at two Techni Committee meetings held on February 5th and April 19th as well as three special meetings as follows: March 5> 1965 - Meeting with Mr. Scheckler cf Johns-Manville to discuss asbestos and health. May 6, i960 - Meetings with Mr. Xcdaris to dis cuss technical paper on sprayed fiber in plenum areas May 10,. i960 - Special hearing of iTew Vork City Board of Standards and Appeals. Mer.ber companies r ported or. the status of sub mission to uLI of de-dusting systems and concurred that the results obtained in the radlsy Associates dust tests be released. > The Committee assisted 'TIMA in revising their bcohlet on Recommended Health and Safety Practices as it concerned sprayed thermal insulation. Regarding air ercsicn - the revised'method and criteria was presented to GSA and the Naval Construction Battalion - the latter rewriting Federal Specification SS-S-111 - and in both cases the method was accepted as submitted. The initial draft of the Xodaras paper cn the use-of sprayed mineral fiber in air plenum chambers was reviewed*and is being revised. Mr. Stumpf will follow Mr. Xodaras for final draft by June 1, 1560. Discussion was had cn proposed changes to AS7M S-119 with temperature limitations. The State of Wisconsin rescinded thei own tem- perature limits criteria and are awaiting resul s of A3TM V. ac t a0n * Discussion was had on the possibility cf reduced beam thickness specifications when heavier beam sections are used. Pilot*tests may be required. Dr. Lieff reviewed the worh done by his tash force in ASTM in study of -119- Some discussion was had concerning G3A density 'and flame stread reouirements. The Chairman then discussed communications re ceived by the Association. Mr. Levine read a letter received from the City of' Cleveland Bureau of Building Standards and Building Appeals. This had references to manufacturers certifying sprayed mineral fiber. The Chairman ashed Mr. Singer to write Cleveland, to find out who is presently certifying fiber.
