P3863 Dear Sir: Thank you for your letter of June 10th with enclosure of dust test procedure. My reaction to the suggestion of,this dust test procedure is that it is rather complicated and unduly severe. The long duration of the test would also make it rather costly to conduct in a commercial laboratory. To the best of my knowledge, there is no data available at the present time for sprayed fiber material in such a teat. My feeling at this time is that the specification is to severe to permit any of the commercially avail- : able sprayed fibers now on the market to meet this requirement. In the third paragraph of your letter you refer to ''the amount of dust from the plaster be controlled". In the proposed specification. Section 1. 2 Classification, only Type 1 is given a designation as a plaster irate rial. I assume, however, that in your letter the use of plaster refers to all three types. Is my presumption correct? Insofar as the paintability requirements, I would have no objection to the inclusion of this in the new specification. t |5Sf Page 3 i' I am sorry that we have no test procedure available for determining the resistance to sunlight of color pigments.
