Box 886 Durham, NC 27702 Dear Mr. Wetherington: On November 1 several Vista employees visited Southchem to discuss several issues regarding railcar shipments of Vista muriatic acid to your facility. It has been brought to my attention that during the visit Vista personnel observed what appeared to be unsafe operating conditions that could potentially result in personal injury or unacceptable exposure to acid vapors. While the visit was not intended to be a safety or health review of your operations, the practices described and observed caused concern among our operations personnel who are experienced in handling acid. As the safety and health of our customer's employees is of vital concern to Vista, we are enclosing another Material Safety Data sheet for Vista muriatic acid. We ask that you carefully review the contents regarding the safe handling and disposal of muriatic acid.
