PURPOSE The purpose of this spec, is to clearly define to the supplier requirements for manufacturing lead alloy, 99-1/47. lead, 3/47. antimony for use in center fire bullets, REQUIREMENTS 2.1 Drawings - D103-90. 2.2 Material 2*2.1 2.2.2 The material shall be clean and of uniform composition and shall be free from segregations, dross* oxides, foreign material or any adverse condition which would hinder casting operations, # . PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 3.1 Identification 3.1.1 Each pig is to be identified with a cast or stamped lot number and the vendor's name or symbol. 3.1.2 Each pig will be color coded "Yellow* by applying a yellow paint stripe on each pig, 3.2 Packaging 3.2.1 Pigs will be bundled in batches or 25, Each bundle will contain 5 layers of 5 pigs each. (Reference Dwg. D108-90). 3.2.2 The strapping will consist of two straps around the bundle in one direction and two straps around the bundle at right angles to the first straps (Ref. Dwg.; 0108-90), 3.2.3 Alternate packaging may be used if Prior approval is granted by Remington Arms. 4. Acceptance Criteria A samaple is taken on a vendor lot basis from the center of the pig. The sample is tested for proper amounts of arsenici antimony and trace metals isee paragraph 2,3). 5. Conditions of Rejection - The purchaser reserves the right to reject all or any part of a shipment which does not comply with this specification. In the event of a rejection^ the material Will be returned to the seller and it is understood that transportation charges and other expenses incidental to the delivery of and return of rejected material will be borne by the seller.
