(UPI) -- The Justice Department has filed a fnultimillion-dollar suit against a chemical company for allegedly contaminating two streams and the Tennessee River with tons of DDT over a 23-year period. The suit also asks that the Olin Corp. arrange and pay for medical examinations for people who have eaten fish out of the waterways and now, have dangerously high levels of DDT in their systems. The suit, filed Thursday, alleges that Olin and Calabama Chemical Corp. dumped 900 tons of DDT between 1947 and 1970. Many residents of the tiny fishing village of Triana, Ala., now have dangerously high levels of DDT in their systems, the suit said, citing a report by the Center for Disease Control. HA
