Gentlemen:
This is to confirm the date of the forthcoming meeting to be February 10 and 11, 1971 and the meeting city to be Memnhis, Tennessee.
The meeting place will be at the Holiday Inn on 1-55 and
Brooks Road. Glen Schaaf indicated in his letter of December 22, 1970 that you could make your reservation through him. If you prefer to make your reservation direct with Holiday Inn, please do so, but also inform Glen Schaaf of your intentions so we will know how many are coming.
Time of the initial meeting on February 10, 1971 will be 8:30 a.m. Estimated expenses will be about 320,00 excluding
your room but including lunch both days, cocktails and dinner
the evening of February 10, the meeting room and coffee
breaks, assuming the attendance to be about the same as the May, 1970 meeting.
Again, we wish to urge you to submit your membership requests officially, if you have not done so, and appoint a permanent representative. A suggested form is:

The permanent representatives should identify who will attend the meeting as early as possible to be sure facilities are adequate# This can be done to Glen Schaaf according to paragraph 2 above.
To date there are 16 membership requests received.This leaves at least 8 requests not submitted. THE BY-LAV/S PRrVTNT ATTENDANCE BY ANYONE NOT A MEMBER. Please don3t be disappointed on this
point. We must abide by the by-laws.
According to Article 10 of the by-laws, proposed changes of by-laws are to be advised in the notice of the meeting one month prior to the meeting. The following changes have been suggested and notice is hereby given:
.1 Article 3 Officer: Second paragraph is proposed to read "These officers shall serve for a period of one year, or until I" other] successors have been elected" The word Tothef] should "be omitted. (Goodrich) . t(j 2 Article 6. Dues and Expenses: It is suggested that a
limit be placed on the dues and expenses and/or assessments.
No limits are specified but should certain limitations be agreed to it is assumed that this advance notice will fulfill the by-law requirements. (Goodrich)
3. Article 7. Meetings: Second paragraph is proposed to read "Attendance at meetings j^aud use of the Information

sentence is unchanged. TheQ") bracketed words should be eliminated. Safety is truly a universal subject and should be "open". Licensing agreements would make It desirable to pass along the Information on a restricted basis for some members. (Ethyl Corp.)
*t. Sandy Schrelber is investigating the possibility of affiliating with the SPI. This should serve notice of a proposal if such is desired by the membership.
