In accordance with our discussion, we should like to have 14 samples tested on rabbit eyes by the usual Haskell procedure. Seven tests are to be run with individual samples and seven tests with mixtures of samples submitted. The samples given to you today are as follows:

The above 'mixtures represent different kinds of enamels, and we wish to know That the eve hasard is at the time of use. Therefore, they must be made up according to the following instructions -which differ for each mixture 'with respect to amounts and time of aging before use.

Mixture 1
Mix 20 parts by volume of A (H 5931) with 20 parts B (H 5932) end 1,55 parts of C (H 5933). . Increase Volutes of ABO Mixture by 10% with B (H 5934) and let stand for 30 minutes before using.
Mixture 2 Mix 6.9 parts by weight of A (H 5935) with 2.67 parts of B (H 5936) and 0,43 parts of C (H 5937).
Mixture 3 'Mix 1 part by volume of A (11 5933) with 1 part B (H 5939) and let stand 30 minutes before using.
Mixture 4 Mix 1 part by volume of A (H 5940) with 1 part B (H 5941), Let stand 1 hour and thin 10% with 0 (H 5942) solvent.
Mixture 5 Mix 10 volumes of A (H 5943) with 1 volume of B
(H 5944); agitate during mixing.
Mixture 6 -Mix 7.1 parts by weight of A (H 5945) with 2.35 parts of B (H 5946) and 0,55 parts of G (H 5947).
Mixture 7 Thin A (H 5948) 15% by volume with B (H 5949).
The test procedure for the eyes involves placing 10 mg of solid, or 0.1 ml of undiluted liquid into one conjunctival sac of each of two rabbits and closing the eyelids. Twenty seconds after instillation one eye is washed with a gentle -stream of tap water for one minute. The other eye :1s not 'washed. The untreated eye of each rabbit is used as a control, A second pair of rabbits is similarly treated with the test material as a 10% solution or suspension in propylene glycol. This method should be used as described for the first seven samples. In the case of the mixtures, rather than testing a propylene glycol dilution, test each mixture in two eyes.
The eyes are examined at one and four hours and at one, two, three and seven days, or as considered necessary. Examinations after the day of treatment should be made with the aid of fluorescein stain and a hand slit lamp or biomicroscopa.
