In expanding the present Asbestos Safety Standard No. 161, I suggest that the following sections be added in order to bring the standards into line with current OSHA regulations: 1. Protective Clothing Removal of asbestos insulation, sawing or cutting of insulation material containing asbestos, or any other job involving exposures to high levels of asbestos dust shall require that protective clothing be furnished the employee. Such clothing shall be re moved at the end of the job or end of the day, whichever occurs first, and shall either be laundered or disposed of by the company. Disposable coveralls are acceptable. 2. Respiratory Protection High concentrations of asbestos dust generated by rip off or other work shall require the use of positive pressure air supplied respirators by persons performing or otherwise engaged in dusty jobs. t 0048
