Stop 1: Boeing Engineering Cabin (ECab) Campus to see a 777X simulator The Secretary will join Jim Webb, Boeing chief pilot and vice president of Flight Operations, in the 777X ECab, a to-scale 777X flight simulator.
Boeing engineers and pilots use the ECab to evaluate and test new features, validate design changes, prepare for flight testing and provide a realistic experience of the flight deck.
The 777-9 is Boeing's newest widebody jet. It is currently in flight test with first delivery expected in 2026.
Based on the highly successful 777, the 777X has advanced technologies from the 787 Dreamliner family, a new all-composite wing built by Boeing in Everett, Wash., and highly fuel-efficient engines made by GE Aviation. The 777X uses 20% less fuel than the previous generation aircraft.
Customers around the world have ordered more than 480 777X airplanes, which will mainly fly long-haul international routes. The 777-9 model will seat up to 426 people in a typical two-class cabin. Boeing also is designing a 777-8 Freighter airplane.
Stop 2: Boeing Renton Site The group will tour 737 Final Assembly to see current production and changes made as part of Boeing's Safety and Quality Plan (more information below). Stops include: o Flow Days 1, 2 and 3, where teams install wiring, insulation blankets and other components in 737 fuselages. o As part of Boeing's Safety & Quality Plan, "move-ready criteria" clearly identify certain milestones that must be completed before an airplane can move to the next flow day. o The work in progress (WIP) rack system stores components that have not been installed yet to keep them in a secure, accessible place as the airplane moves through production. o The tool corral pilot project in Flow Day 4 uses a new approach to tool management to improve the control of our tools and reduce the likelihood of tools being lost. o The tour will continue on the second-floor mezzanine to see the remaining build positions before the airplane rolls out of the factory.

Nearly 13,000 Boeing teammates work in the Renton area, most building the 737 family and military derivatives P-8 Poseidon and E-7 Wedgetail. The site opened in 1942.
Stop 3: Boeing 737 MAX family of airplanes The 737 MAX is a fuel-efficient single-aisle jet that reduces fuel use by 20% compared to previous generation airplanes. Flown on domestic and international regional routes, the global 737 MAX fleet carries 700,000 passengers to destinations around the world, with more than 80 airlines making more than 5,500 revenue flights daily. Customers have placed firm orders for more than 4,270 737 MAX airplanes; Boeing has delivered more than 1,700 of these jets through February 2025. The 737 MAX family includes the 737-7, 737-8, 737-8-200, 737-9, and 737-10 variants and Boeing Business Jets models. Powered by the CFM International LEAP-1B engine and incorporating advanced technology winglets, the 737 MAX family also reduces the noise footprint near airports by 50%.

Boeing gathered feedback from its employees, regulator, customers and independent experts to develop a comprehensive plan.
