shall test for respirator fit or make determinations of asbestos particulates
within the respiratory inlet covering to Insure that no worker Is being exposed
to asbestos in excess of the standard either because of Improper respirator
selection or fit.

(11) As noted above, the use of respirators can be decided on the basis of peak concentrations, as tabled hereunder:

(111) For peak concentrations exceeding the limits given in Section 1 (a) but not exceeding limits given for class A above in Section 4 (a) (11), a reusable or single use filter-type air-purifying respirator, operating vlth a negative pressure during the Inhalation phase of breathing, approved under the proviri'.-n ot 30 CFR 14 (Bureau of Mines Schedule 21B) or valveless respirators provldng equivalent protection shall be used.
(lv) For peak concentrations not exceeding class B given In Section 4 (a) (11), a powered alr-purlfylng positive-pressure respirator approved under the provision of 30 CFR 14 (Bureau of Mines Schedule 21B) shall be used
(v) For atmospheres with peak concentrations greater than Claes B as given in Section 4 (a) (ill), e type C positive-pressure supplied air respirator approved under the provision of 30 CFR 12 (Bureau of Mines Schedule 190) shall be U6ed.
(vl) The emplyer sb*',l establish a respirator program in accordance with the requirements ot the American National Standard for Respiratory Protection Z88.2 - 1969.
(b) Special Clothing
(1) The employer shall provide, and enforce the use of, special whole body clothing, head coverings, gloves, and foot coverings for any employee exposed to airborne concentrations of fibrous asbestos particulates which exceed the ceiling level prescribed In Section 1 (a) .
