Reason: Provided CBI warning to facility The following information was obtained verbally from Brad Wozniak and Carter Hanson unless otherwise noted. Process Description: Raw material comes in via rail or tanker to one of four loading and unloading areas (LULs). Tankers are washed onsite. Once received, chemicals may be offloaded to indoor or outdoor storage tanks, pumped to the fill room, and/or filled directly into totes or drums without blending. Viscous chemicals are transferred to LUL 4 (the "warm room") to facilitate pumping. Chemicals are blended in the fill room or the compound room. The compound room is heated to make viscosity adjustments and create a homogenous mix. Final products are moved to the floor stock or are shipped using EMCO's private fleet of trucks. Staff Interview: The facility operates from 6AM to 10PM or 12AM five days a week. Prior to discharging wastewater from tanker cleaning to the City of Kenosha, pH is tested, and a visual check is performed. The facility washes about twenty tankers per day. TOUR INFORMATION EPA Toured the Facility: Yes Data Collected and Observations: EPA walked the production process including all four LULs, the main fill room, the compound room, and tank storage area. An air scrubber was observed at LUL 4 that activates during loading and unloading.
