COLE CHAPMAGA ) COLECE ) Subject: Bio-fate of C-8 Dave Ellis, John Migliore, Dan Weber, and Roger Zipfel held a phone conference on 2/26/97 to discuss the program to obtain bio-fate data for C-8. The minutes of this meeting follow: We pursued Dave E l l i s 1 and Martin Odom's suggestion to sample the Parkersburg site for the detection of any C-8 decomposition products. * Zipfel reported that 3M has agreed to do the analytical support for this sampling program. * Zipfel checked on the availability of test wells BO-1 and BO-2. Inspection c :: the area where these wells are shown on Figure 6, did not show a n y active well areas. There did appear to be evidence on one well, but it was plugged solid with firm soil. * Zipfel to send Ellis a copy of UofD study of the supernate ponds. This has been complete. The team agreed on the following basic plan. 1) Collect data taken from the following wells T W -33, T W - 2 , TW-27, TW-1, TW-W-1, TW-P12, LLMW-4, LLMW-5, LLMW-6, the Ranney Well, and the Lubeck Wells. Resp. Dan Weber Timing - by 3/15 2) Review above data plus ground water i n f o r m a t i o n .in VI to de te rm in e current level of understanding. Resp. Dave Ellis Timing - 4/1 EID932600 000045 3) Develop test protocol for additional samples and job completion. To include timing and costs. Resp. Dave Ellis Timing - 3/1 4) Get 3M to define sample size, sample procedure, and shipping procedure. Resp. Roger Zipfel Timing - 3/15 5) First round of sampling to 3M to begin to develop analytical capability. This will include one water (TW-33) and one soil sample. Resp. Dan Weber Timing - 3/15 6) Send 3M samples of waters from wells, TW-33, TW-2, TW-27, TW-M-4, TW-W-1, TW-P12. Resp. Dan Weber Timing - 4/15 7) Sample 6 additional water wells, and 8 soil samples (from one bori ng locatec at old supernate ponds - ne ar where previous borings were made) at sites to be specified by Dave Ellis. Send samples to 3M for analysis. Resp. - DERS , samples sent to 3M by Roger Zipfel Timing - 5/1 8) 3M completes data analysis Resp. - 3M Timing - 6/1 9) Biofate calculations completed Resp. - Dave Ellis Timing - 6/15 10) Examine alternate biofate methods if above fails Resp. Dave Ellis Timing - 6/15-7/1. EID932601 C00046 That's it. Team members please comment on accuracy by Monday as I will use this chart in presentation to PACE teams. Roger. EID932602 000047 R.IX004779
