I am suxie that the present suggestions of the Potter's Association is much too high! for this practical use. I was (and am) skeptical of the standard as applied to small fruits and apples. There was here, however, the partial justification (1) that small fruits and apples enter irregularly and modestly into the!general American diet, and, therefore, contributed only proportionall; to the lead in the American diet, and (2) that it seemed inadvisable to reduce this part of the diet to a vanishing point, by setting a prohibitively low standard.
