R. S i m o n s Seneca Building Although I have no objections to the addition of "or cancer" in Section 5 of the Flosal MSDS, I also see no need of this addition. If "or cancer" is added, the word "lung" or "pulmonary" should be inserted before "cancer." The only cancer caused by the combination of asbestos and tobacco is lung cancer. (I have seen no evidence that chrysotile asbestos by itself is a carcinogen.) Since lung cancer is a pulmonary disease the adding of "or lung cancer" is redundant. I think it is more important to add in Section 9 under "Other Precautions" a statement concerning the synergism between tobacco and asbestos for carcinogenic effects. , F. 0.
