Certain-teed Products Corporation Ardmore. Pennsylvania ornce or the phcsioent August 14, 1964 Mr. R. M. Bateman Turner It Newell Limited Asbestos House Fountain Street * Manchester 2, England ' Dear Ralph: Re: Fiber Requirements Mr. Lanz, Mr. Davis, and 1 have had a complete discussion on fiber require* ments following my return from England. They have now made up projected fiber requirements for the next five years, based on their best estimate of our long-range plans. These requirements will be different than those in Mr. Lanz1 letter of March 4th^to Mr. Howe because our new projection includes the new production facilities that we are adding, as well as our thinking on extrusion. Their report is as follows: " Cassiar AK Cassiar AX CfcG/3 CkG/4 CkG/5 TA/K --Carey 7M-5 _1965 6, 200 6, 200 2, 100 4, 250 4,250 5, 400 100 Tons of Fiber 1966 19^7 1968 1969 7, 100 7, 100 2, 300 4, 650 4, 650 5, 700 2,000 8, 100 8, 100 2, 700 5, 300 5, 300 6, 000 5,000 9.200 9. 200 3. 000 6, 100 6. 100 6,400 9.000 Y-10. 500 10,500 )3,400 6, 900 - 6, 900 6, 800 15,000 Totals 28. 500 33,500 40,500 49.000 60,000 "This assumes that we will continue with our present fiber bler.es for Mazza pipe. However, we're interested in shorter fibers if and when they become available. If Cassiar AY proves to be satisfactory, we would want to use some of it and reduce our requirements of the other Cassiar grades. Similarly, if CLC/6 proves to be satisfactory, we would want some of it to replace a portion of the ether CLC fibers. PX 9 4 Cj c ontir.-'.cii Certain teed Products Corporation Mr. R, M. Bateman f 2- August 14, 1964 "Carey 7M-5 has proved to be the best fiber for extrusion. We're forecasting some sales of extruded pipe or other extruded products and, for planning purposes, have shown our requirements in this grade." . * 4\* I- 1 would appreciate your thoughts on these requirements as to the availability, and also your thoughts in relation to the Carey 7M-5 because, if the extrusion * business works out the way. we believe it can, 1 would like to find a way to use your fibers and not Carey's. fticerely, MM/fpc \ / | ' , c V- o- Malcolm Meyer
