Warren American Oil Company, LLC / Chapman Lease Inspection Date: 12/06/2017
EPA Region 6 inspector K.W. Sanborn visited the Warren American Oil Company, LLC oil and gas facility located at the latitude 36.846708 N and longitude -96.5006 W near Pawhuska, Oklahoma on 12/06/2017 for an unannounced inspection. The facility was known as the Chapman tank battery and has EPA identification number: OKU000862.
Section II - OBSERVATIONS
I conducted a follow up inspection at a recent discharge site on a tributary of North Bird Creek. With a calibrated YSI 30 Pro Conductivity Meter I measured the Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) in the tributary. The highest TDS readings were measured near the original source of the discharge and were 9,500 mg/L in dug hole. TDS values in the tributary ranged from 900 mg/L to 1,300 mg/L. I observed that flow in the tributary had not reached the south fence. I observed ongoing remediation activities.
Section III - AREAS OF CONCERN
Elevated TDS levels in the tributary.
