Thank you, but the Administrator and Presidential personnel are moving forward with the vetting of an ag counselor for EPA. I believe it is pretty far along. I'll let you know if that doesn't work out.

Let's do that. I got too busy over this last Congress.
Jess and I have known each other for I guess nearly 10 years.

I'm nearly there on this. I'm sorry for the initial problems.

Ryan,
Audience will be about 150 steel executives including CEOs of all the big US mills. Both electric arc furnace and integrated (iron ore/blast furnace) steelmakers. The industry has a very positive track record of improving environmental performance, reducing emissions and energy consumption, and increasing efficiency. It was a participant in the old Sector Strategies Program, run out of OP (then OPEI). It was started under the Clinton EPA, we expanded it to additional sectors in Bush '43, but the Obama EPA eliminated it.
Our biggest issue set is the suite of air regulations. It has both direct and indirect impacts on us. Since steel mills will usually be any utilities largest commercial customer, we have a large interest in all of the utility regs. We also are directly affected by all of the general air regs and some sector-specific regs. We responded to the earlier IFR from Commerce on government wide regulatory reform, and focused on EPA. I am attaching that. Tomorrow we are finalizing the submission to EPA's IFR on existing regs, which will be very similar. It will focus on a number of issues our members encounter on CAA permitting (NSR/PSD, routine maintenance and repair, modeling issues for NAAQS, etc. Cercla 108(b) hardrock mining rule is important to our members with mining operations. We are engaged on the various water/wetlands issues.
Is this what you need? Something more focused?
Tom

Good morning Mr. Gibson,
Hopeful that this email finds you well! Reaching out today regarding your invitation for Administrator Pruitt to speak to the American Iron and Steel Manufacturers on May 23rd. Unfortunately due to travel we won't be able to participate in the event this time. My apologies for the delay in getting back to you, it has been a whirlwind over here. Please don't hesitate to reach out to us in the future though for other events! Thank you!
Best, Sydney Hupp
