Although 90 days have elapsed in which industry and public comment were solicited, I wish to provide our approval of actions to limit asbestos contents of drugs, foods, or beverages. We hope that your staff will pursue these problems with all reasonable speed, because investigation and control of this potentially injurious substance is frequently not within the power of local health departments.
