The new asbestos ore pinpertics arc located at Mashaba in the Victoria Dis trict of Southern Rhodesia, about 200 miles south of Salisbury and 120 miles east of Bulawayo. The project is part of Johns-Manville's long-range program to maintain adequate supplies of asbestos ore for many years to conic-, according to A. R. Fisher, president. Rhodesian Asbestos Limited was formed in December, 1951, and is under the direction of Canadian Johns-Manville Company, Ltd., a subsidiary of the American corporation, in association with British Metals Corporation, Ltd., Anglo- Huronian Ltd., Southern Minerals & Marketing Corp., (Pty) Ltd., and the Simon I. Patino interests. James Robert Ewing, a widely ex perienced milling engineer formerly with Southern Mineials & Marketing Corpora tion of Southern Rhodeda, has been ap pointed mine manager, according to Mr. Fisher. Mr. Ewing holds a master's de gree in geology from Queen's University, Kingston, Ontario.
