We are working with Curtis Tanner and others in the Lacey office and regional office to understand the timeline implications and keep everything else moving forward. I will let you know if any questions arise, but for now we will keep plugging along. Robyn Thorson and her deputy Mary Abrams are available for further questions, as well as Rollie White (rollie white@fws.gov) are the primary POCs. Due to the furlough, Robyn and her team anticipate that they'll require additional time to complete the Region's NEPA workload, including the Skookumchuck EIS. And EPA has requested that they provide additional time for their agency to provide comments since the public comment period expired during the shutdown. We recommend reopening the comment period for two weeks to allow EPA to submit comments. They anticipate that the combined impact of lost work time, reopening the public comment period, and ramping up work with contractors will delay the publication of the Final EIS. Did you ever receive any comments or questions from EPA? I'm available if you have further questions. Now that the EIS comment period has closed (January 14), timeline has become critical. More generally, do you know if there is anyone at USFWS right now that is focused on processing section 7 consultations, particularly those on critical timelines?
