You have a choice of two dif ferent wallboard joint treatments when you specify Bestwall Joint System. Each enables the end and edge joints of gypsum wallboard to be concealed by cement and tape. Both are designed to give you smooth, uninterrupted walls with joints as strong as wallboard itself. 1. A ONE-MATERIAL TREATMENT uses Bestwall Joint System Cement for both bedding and topping the Bestwall Tape and for spotting nail heads. This treatment is es pecially suited for remodeling and home improvement jobs and gives just as good results as the twomaterial treatment. A good "topping-out" job with Bestwall Joint System Cement eliminates sanding, saves time and money for the applicator. Bestwall Tape is designed to per mit air to escape during applica tion and to provide maximum ad hesion to cement. 2. A TWO-MATERIAL TREATMENT combines Bestwall Bedding Com pound for bedding the tape and Bestwall Topping Compound for finishing the joint and spotting nail heads. Bestwall Topping Compound may be sanded when dry, so the two-material treatment is often preferred by applicators who w' to sand joint work. Mixes with white lead, varnish or colors-in oil to make Swed ish Putty. Bestwall Certex is a texturing compound designed to produce varied decorative finishes on wails and ceilings. It is suitable for use on new or old walls of either wallboard or plaster con struction. By varying the method of application, numerous dec orative finishes such as antique, stone or stencil can be produced. Certex can also be used for refinishing cracked plaster and covering wall blemishes. The compound comes in an off-white color, but can be tinted during mixing or painted after appli cation. Bestwall Patching Plaster is used for repairing large areas and cracks before painting. It spreads smoothly, resists shrink age and is easy to apply. Bestwall Patching Plaster stays flat and smooth after troweling. Bestwall Laminating Compound is used as the bonding material in the new two-ply gypsum wallboard construction. It comes in powder form which is mixed with water and applied with a notched spreader to the back of the second layer of wallboard. Upon drying, Bestwall Laminating Compound forms a strong, durable bond between the two layers of wallboard. TO FINISH OPENINGS All Bestwall Metal Casings and Corners are made of .018" gauge hot-galvanized steel, knurled and perforated for maximum cement and paint ad hesion. They provide proper grounds and precise screed for cement application. Nails are driven through board into studs, jambs or headers. BESTWALL METAL CORNERS Nos. 100, DL100 and DLL100. Pro tects the weakest spot in wallboard construction from knocks, bumps and abuse. Provi des stronger, more ac curate external corners. No. 100 has 1" x 1" flanges. No. DL100 has 1 Vi" x 1" flanges and No. DLL 100 has 1 Vi" x 1 Vi" flanges for easier nailing and greater protection. All three -ners come in standard 8' engths. AND CORNERS. BESTWALL metal CASINGS No. 101 Channel Edge. Slips easily over wallboard edge at openings to give functional square trim.
