One aspect of the PCB picture that has not been dealt with to any significant degree in past communications between Monsanto and tho Interagency Task Force is the degradation of tho various Pen's in tho environment and in aninals. `..'e have been actively developing information along those lines and hnve reached a point where wo feel that a symposium would be in order. Specifically, we would like to meet with the Task Force and other interested members of government the week of Mny 15 to cover the topics of the die-away and persistence of various PCP.'s in surface waters and the notabolisn or deposl tion of various PCB's in animal tissues as determined by long-term feeding studies. No will also discuss a modified PC# for use by manufacturers of capacitors and the effect of this material on the environment. Addittonnlly, we will provide a brief review of our accomplishments in cpntrolling PCB effluent from our plant. Plonse lot us know if the proposed week will be convenient.
