Dear Dr. Davison: I send you herewith, quite tardily, the copy of the correspondence on tiie situation in the Belgian Congo. This should have gone to you weeks ago, for it has been on my desk, but I have been in and out, mostly out, on -8 series of jobs, and I had intended waiting to send this until I could take care of several of the other matters which I promised you to do. I have not had time as yet to put down my point of view on the article published by D r . Helge Lund, but X shall not wait longer to complete this task. I begin to find the top of my desk once more, and X shall be able to get at this without further prolonged delay. I am sending an additional copy of this material to Mr. Bevan*s office, since I think it will be advantageous for them to have this exchange of correspondence, and the information, in their files . I am sending to you the material obtained from Baton Fouge on the air analysis. This material, with what I handed you when you were here, should give you everything you require. However, if there should be any additional information which might be useful to you, do not hesitate to let me know. Incidentally, do not hesitate to get after me for anything on which I can be of help to you. I doubt if I shall ever be as badly crowded for time again as I have been in the last six weeks. A combination of things descended upon me, and every minute of the time I have had in my office has been spent,during that period, in getting out things that were Immediately urgent. Even so, I am still behind, but,as I said, the future will hardly be as b a d . Therefore, you need not be concerned about overburdening me with any request you make for information or assistance. 1 may not always respond as promptly as you would wish, but I shall certainly do my best.
