Hi Jrn
Sorry for the late reply from here.
We don't have any meeting rooms available, so we'll
have to come to you. How many will you be and
who, if you know?
My colleague Lrke, who knows the most about the areas you want to know about, will join us with the small caveat that the soil monitoring proposal is also going to Coreper at the same time, so we'll have to see what the timing is.

That's fantastic. Thank you, mate.
I would like to send an invitation. Would you like to welcome us at Reppen or would you like to visit us at 3 Rue du Luxembourg? Both are possible for us.

Dear Jorn
Thanks for following up.
Wednesday 29 May at 15.15 is a good time. I'm bringing my colleague Lmrke with me, as she's working on cases involving groundwater and soil contamination, among other things. I myself work with a number of chemical cases that are also - but perhaps to a lesser extent - relevant to you.

Hi Anders
Happy Ascension weekend to you.
We're now ready to narrow down topics for our meeting and we're also interested to hear if your calendar has become more fixed for 29-30 May.
We have the option to meet with you and relevant colleagues on the 29th from 15:15, alternatively over lunch on the 29th from 11:45-12:45 if that suits you better. We can also stick to 30 May from 13:00-14:00, although it will be a bit tight due to the delegation's transport to the airport promptly after the meeting. Let us know what suits you best.
In terms of content and themes for the meeting, we propose to focus on the environmental unit's area of authority on groundwater protection, soil contamination, especially PFAS and regulations for and phasing out o f chemicals. The delegation is curious to hear about the status of ongoing review and legislative procedures of relevant files, the Danish position on these, and expectations on where they are going.
out
lander. The delegation will be able to talk about the Capital Region of Denmark's special challenges in this area. If you are interested, we are also ready to provide input on time horizons for implementation, limit values and requirements for detecting, monitoring and cleaning up contaminants based on the region's regulatory work and needs/experiences arising from this.

Hi Anders
We now have the flight times from John and Ole and would like to adjust our tentative meeting by half an hour, i.e. to 13:00-14:00.
Let us know if this causes challenges in your calendar.

Hi Anders
Thank you for your email and quick response.
That sounds great. Your colleagues are of course very welcome.

With the proviso that you haven't received the negotiation meeting calendar for May yet, I suggest we plan for Thursday 30 May at 13:30-14:30.
What do you say to that and that we follow up in early May to align expectations and establish premises?

Dear Jorn
Thank you for your email.
I would like to meet with you one of those days. I'm not familiar with all the topics mentioned, but can possibly bring my colleague.
We have not yet received our calendar for May in relation to negotiation meetings in the Council, but both days seem fine. We can possibly adjust the time when we get closer if something should arise.
We can also talk more about expectations etc. Vh Otherwise

Dear Anders
I'd like to ask you if you have an hour in the afternoon of 30 May for a meeting with Ole Frimodt, head of the environmental unit in the Capital Region of Denmark, and Chief Consultant John Flyvbjerg from the same unit.
Ole and John visit Brussels for EU Green Week, where the Capital Region of Denmark will give a presentation on challenges and solutions related to PFAS. PFAS. While in Brussels, both would love to meet with you and have a dialogue about current and upcoming environmental files, the importance of EU legislation for the region's authority on pollution (soil contamination, ground/drinking water, PFAS, pesticides, limit values), and the regulation of secondary raw materials for e.g. construction.
A meeting on Thursday 30 May in the afternoon, for example at 13:30 or 14:30 is best, but it would also be possible on Wednesday 29 May between 12-13 or in the afternoon after 15:00 if we reschedule. We can come by Rue D'Arlon, or use our premises at Rue du Luxembourg 3, it's entirely up to you.
I look forward to hearing back from you about your options for said times.

Dear Anders and Lwrke
With John and Niels back in the capital, I would like to briefly follow up on our meeting in Brussels on Wednesday. We owe you a big thank you for taking the time to make us more aware of the mood and direction of the negotiations on the most important files for us in the environmental area. The Capital Region of Denmark will continue to follow the area both via Danish Regions and our office, with an eye on the requirements and priorities from the EU that the region must implement in the coming years.
We would like to share with you the attached White Paper on the Future of Drinking Water, to which the Capital Region of Denmark has contributed. The white paper puts more words to the recommendations we mentioned from water sector experts and practitioners on regulation and policy decisions for groundwater and drinking water protection, including pollution. The recommendations are very useful in relation to EU regulation in this area. For example, legislation is ranked as the biggest barrier to clean drinking water in Denmark, followed by economy, lack of technology testing, lack of basic research and lack of labour.
If you have any questions or want something clarified, you are welcome to
contact us. Talk to you soon, and have a great maternity leave to Lwrke! u
