Dear Mr. Fabel* Soars of January 22nd has been received and I an very glad to note that your coapany has decided to cooperate in the underwriting of Dr. Gardner*s ex periments for one additional year, even though at slightly increased expense. I aa -rscnally convinced that this additional expenditure will be well worthwhile froa the Xndugtry*s point of view and, of course, indirectly froa the stand point of individual companies. With regard to the final arrangeaents, I do not intend to do aore than to authorize Dr. Gardner to proceed for one more year upon the basis of the exist ing agreeaent. This, as a natter of fact, has already been done. So far as concerns the undertaxing of the various companies to share in the additional expenses, I believe we say safely peralt the natter to rest upon the basis of the informal assurances which X have re ceived from those which arc continuing their participation As heretofore, Johns-ianville Corporation will pay the quarterly installments and bill the other companies for their proportionate shares.
