Apparently copies were not sent to you originally as no action was requested. As you recommended, we will discuss with the Legal Department the question of taking samples for Standard of Indiana. If this is to be done, it is understood that the Kettering Lab will collect the samples and make the analysis. We will keep you advised as to Standard's final wishes on this subject.

Pleas refer to your letter of August 29, concerning wtaM^Tyslan' s report of an alleged lead poisoning at Th^J^andard Oil of Indiana Marine Terminal at Green Bay.
Jerry already had a good understanding of the use of the Lead-In-Air analyzer, but we had the opportunity, recently, to discuss this particular situation and other possible problems which may arise in the future.

We note that Jerry explained, to these people the use of the Lead-in-Air kit. Wa hope that Jerry understands that this is not to he used around the loading rack} or if a lead read ing was found, there night be extress difficulty in giving a proper interpretation.

For your information we attach a copy of Jerry Tyslan's customer service report of August 5, con cerning an alleged lead poisoning of a former employee at the Green Bay, Wisconsin terminal of Standard Oil Company of Indiana.
Today Paul Harris discussed this matter with several officials at Standard's main office, Chicago, Illinois. ' They have an extensive file on the subject. Paul I offered the service of our company, but they do not l feel that it is necessary at the present time.
We will keep you advised if there is any further development on the matter.

On Wednesday, 31 July 1957., Messrs. Hofmeister and Planert visited the Marine Terminal at Green Bay to investigate a former Standard employee's claim that he was lead poisoned while working at the truck loading rack in the terminal. Since I was on location, observing a tank cleaning, they asked questions regarding the possibility of getting lead poisoning under the conditions present at the terminal. While I was answering the questions in generalities, I explained about our L.I.A. kit, and demonstrated its use.
Mr. Hofmeister was very impressed with the kit, and said he would contact our Chicago office for further help in this matter.
The only inforrnation I could get on the injured man was that he stopped working for Standard in 1956, after having worked there for several years.
