Evan though existing levels at chat time were within the standard, recommendstions were submitted due to the potentially serious health hasard which extensive exposure to asbestos presents. A local exhaust syst.ee has now been Installed on the sliccer machine. It Is important to remember chat the closer the exhaust is to the operation being performed, the more effective Che dust control. Also, overloading the exhaust system car. decrease its efficiency. It was indicated that the dust i'na; is hot captured by the exhaust is vacuumed, not swept, frorr the table and floors. ^ Employees should be discouraged fror.i using air hoses for clean up purposes us this can cause asbestos dust that is present to be dispersed into workers' breathing zones.
