Dear Ms. Dunn:
This letter:will serVe as a response by Conair Corporation to the CPSC Special Order dated 5/14/79.
Substantially, all information requested in the special order has been previously supplied to the Commission by Conair letters dated 4/9, 4/23, and 4/30, submitted by Leandro P. Rizzuto.
The only Conair hair dryers which ever contained asbestos material were hand held dryers.
We are unable to furnish at this time a description of the type or grade of asbestos material used in our dryers. This information together with the nar.es and addresses of the suppliers of this material are being aggragated by the Company and will be supplied to the Commission immediately upon receipt.
The hair dryers in question were marketed to the professional consumer and retail coosumer either directly to the consumer or indirectly through the use of distributors.
No formal tests have been conducted on our dryers in regard to the asbestos controversy.

The following is a comment relating to the bulletin published by the commission identifying the manufacturers of hair dryers containins asbestos. Conai r has detennined and identified which of its model 065 hair dryers contain asbestos and which do not. The statement which appears under the caption "Models without asbestos", referring to model 065, serial number 0478, is incorrect. The statement which should appear under this caption ;s as follows: all model 065 dryers except those with serial nunilers listed under the caption "Models with asbestos".
